INSTALLATION
PatrolPath uses a normal Windows x64 installer. It installs for the current Windows user, does not require Node.js, and is designed to install without administrator rights under standard Windows policy.
Get the current releaseGo to the PatrolPath Download page and download the current stable Windows x64 .exe installer. Previous release notes remain available on that page, but only the current stable build is downloadable.
Open the downloaded PatrolPath-Setup-… .exe. PatrolPath installs for your Windows account under the local application area and creates normal Windows shortcuts. Administrator elevation is not required under standard Windows policy.
Open Settings → Privacy & security → Location. Turn on Location services and allow desktop applications to access location. PatrolPath reads the Windows location service; you do not select or open the GNSS COM port inside PatrolPath.
Open Patrol Path from its Windows shortcut. A new unlicensed installation must be online once to register its five-day evaluation. No agency key is required during the evaluation period. If you already have a key, open License Settings and activate the installation.
Open Settings, select the patrol state, and save it. PatrolPath uses that choice for the correct municipality and road-data source. Then use the GPS test near a window or outdoors and allow up to 90 seconds for a cold GNSS fix.
Once the installer version is in place, you do not need to return to the website for every stable release. PatrolPath checks for updates during its normal licensing/check-in cycle, and you can also use Check for Updates in Settings. When an update is ready, choose Restart & Install.
FIELD-TESTED CONFIGURATION
The current Windows build has been developed around Windows 11 Pro and Windows Location-compatible GNSS hardware, including the DW5930e Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 receiver used in the Latitude 5430 Rugged. Install current Dell firmware and GNSS/location drivers before field testing.
